It is indeed a great initiative that IT-BHU alumni is connecting with the institute. Having an alumni database is the way to go. However, I guess the search fields can be a bit expanded to include job function, location, employer etc. This will help current students as well as Alums to do targeted networking, which is supposedly one of the most important things to succeed.
Can we expand the database a bit more to allow business networking along with social networking? Also, I suggest that the current student connect with the alumni as much as possible to get into career guidance and information about job openings etc. This is especially true for 3rd years and 4th years.
Guys start the habit of networking early in your careers. it will take you a long way.
